Tuesday Tune \ Alive by Goldfrapp.

Tuesday, time for a new interesting, wonderful, strange, amazing track to sublimate your ears with by sharing magnificent melodies, rough rhythms and booming beats. This weeks Tuesday Tune is the new single Alive from Goldfrapp, the English electronic music duo, formed in 1999 in London, consisting of singer-songwriter and musician Alison Goldfrapp and musician/producer Will Gregory.

Golfrapp's 2000 debut album Felt Mountain featured minimalistic electronics compositions with down tempo structures and soft vocals. The albums that followed, Black Cherry (2003) and Supernature (2005), have seen Goldfrapp embracing elements of glam rock, dance and disco music. Usually associated with the electro clash movement, Goldfrapp recalls 1980's new wave. But their album Seventh Tree (2008) sounded more folktronica and ambient. Now, their latest album Head First (March 2010) marks another change of direction towards electro pop and 1980s synthpop.

Goldfrapp
is frequently performing at different festivals this summer and in August the duo is heading to the Netherlands. August 18th, they'll perform in Paradiso Amsterdam. For now, we just have to do it with their recorded tracks, so enjoy our great Tuesday Tune below!

Written for BLEND.
